About Us

Our Mission Statement

Meyer Implement's goal is to provide the best possible products, parts, and service to our clientele at a fair and competitive price.  We will serve our customers in a neat, clean facility worthy of our company name and at a profitable margin as to support our future growth and our employee's job security.

Our History

Meyer Implement Company was established in 1939 in Bowling Green, Missouri by brothers Bill and Roy Meyer.  They moved from the family farm in Montgomery County to Bowling Green when they heard of an opportunity for an International Harvester Dealership.  Bill and Roy's early days as a fledgling dealership were a struggle when they found themselves competing with another IH dealership that opened in neighboring Louisiana, MO and a large influx of Amish  families that did not use modern equipment. Roy sold out to Bill and he started an Allis Chalmers dealership in Montgomery City, Missouri.

Bill Meyer and his wife Dorothy continued the dealership in Bowling Green.  They had three sons - Mike, Rob and Ed - who continue the operation today. They still sell what is now Case IH equpment, along with Kubota and several other short lines.

In 1988, the three Meyer brothers opened a second dealership in Monroe City, Missouri, which is managed by John A. Hays. His brothers, Donnie and Phil Hays work in the Service Department. The Hays brothers come from the Jim Hays family that was also a long-time International Harvester, then later Case IH, dealership in Monroe City that was established in 1956.

As you can see, both of our dealerships are truly family-owned and operated businesses. Whether you are in the Bowling Green or Monroe City stores, you are dealing with 2nd generation "Iron Peddlers"  that very much appreciate your business.
